U.S. and Chinese officials are collaborating on a new conference that will be held later this month in Southern California to explore possibilities for expanding the business and general aviation sector in China. The new U.S.-China General Aviation Business Conference, to be held March 25-31 and hosted by Threshold Aviation, is attracting more than 30 representatives from Chinese government agencies, investment organizations, airport operations and academia.
“This is a first opportunity for U.S.-based companies to meet the people in China who are responsible to a great extent [for growing] the aviation business in China,” said Yuanyang Gao, director, General Aviation Industry Research Center, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the deputy secretary general for AOPA-China. “And [it] represents an opportunity for U.S. companies to share their expertise in an area that is new to China: general aviation.”
The conference includes two primary events to facilitate interaction between U.S. companies and Chinese attendees: a conference day on March 27 at the Embassy Suites in Brea, California, and an Aviation Expo on March 28 at Threshold Aviation at Chino Airport, California.

“If China is to grow its general aviation industry, it needs assistance with literally everything involved in the infrastructure and the supply chain,” organizers note.
